What can I say? 2018, you’ve been a good’en.
This time last year, I had no idea what an amazing whirlwind 2018 would be. I would go as far as saying that it’s been my best and most successful year yet. I have finally broken free of my comfort zone, taken on new challenges and met the most incredible people in the process.
Starting Uni has been my biggest achievement by far. Having deferred going for 2 years, I was starting to wonder whether it would be right for me. This year, though, I was in a better place mentally than I’d ever been. I’d applied for a course I knew was right for me, and thought you know what, let’s just go for it. I’d reached a place where I understood that nothing in life is set in stone. If I liked it, that was great. If I didn’t, I’d work something out.
Luckily, it worked out better than I could’ve ever imagined. Taking the leap and going to Uni has been one of the most positive steps I’ve taken in my life. It has allowed me to flourish so much more than I thought possible.
2018 has been a year of friendship. Some of my most cherished memories of the year are meeting all my wonderful friends at Uni. It seems surreal that this time last year, I didn’t even know the names of some of the most incredible and influential people in my life.
More than anything, this has been a year of progress. Both mentally and physically, I am leaving 2018 a healthier and happier version of myself, which I think is always the ultimate goal.
Tonight will be spent with family and friends to celebrate the New Year and my birthday. I’m so ready to see what 2019 has in store, and am more excited than ever to continue working on myself and my goals.
Today, let’s all take a moment to reflect on everything we’ve achieved in the year passed, and all the happy moments we have enjoyed.
Happy New Year!
