You may have noticed the #Gymshark66 hashtag flooding your Twitter and Instagram feeds in recent weeks. If you’ve been wondering what it is, you aren’t alone; until just a couple of weeks ago I’d never heard of it either.
After doing a bit of research, however, I immediately decided this was something I wanted to do. The rules of the challenge are simple. You take a photo of 1st January, and 66 days later, you post another picture again to commemorate completing the challenge or to showcase any gainz you’ve made. How you document your journey along the way is completely up to you.
As for the ‘challenge’ part – this can be whatever you like, so it’s a chance to get creative! It is thought to take 66 days to form a lasting habit, hence the challenge running for 66 days.
For my personal challenge, I have chosen to try to increase my protein intake. I’ve never eaten much meat, and have now gone fully vegetarian again, so finding different plant-based protein sources is going to be something really worthwhile.
I will also be getting back properly focused on weight training, especially when I move back to Uni at the end of this month. I’ve got my workouts planned and am hoping they, combined with my increased protein intake will help me achieve some good gains (especially in the booty region!)
I’m so excited to progress through this challenge and share my results in March and beyond! Is anyone else doing the #Gymshark66 challenge this year or have any other fitness and health goals?
Here are my January 1st pictures – I’m so looking forward to sharing my #Gymshark66 journey, and everything I learn on the way!
If you want to take part in this year’s challenge, it’s not too late! You just need to post your first picture before midnight tonight (7th January). You can find out more information here.
