Ever find yourself having a ‘quick scroll through Instagram’ and suddenly find it’s been 2 hours, you’re 17 ‘fitspo’ profiles deep and your self-esteem is on the floor?
Don’t worry, I’ve been there too. We’re only human. It’s easy to get caught up comparing ourselves to other people who appear to have the ‘perfect’ life/body/job etc.
This is why I think it’s important to keep a good check of who we’re choosing to follow on social media.
Wouldn’t it be amazing to go for a quick gander in your spare time and leave the ‘gram feeling inspired, uplifted and positive about yourself?
Of course it would. And, actually, it is totally possible.
So I challenge you to this: at the start of every month, go through your social media following lists (on whatever platforms you use) and unfollow anyone who makes you feel insecure or bad about yourself.
And for God’s sake, make sure that people promoting ‘flat tummy teas’ are the first to go.
Go through each person and ask yourself:
- Do I know this person? If yes, are you interested in seeing their posts?
- Does this person make me feel good/inspire me? If not, consider pressing that unfollow button.
When you’ve done the unfollowing, you can get started on the fun part! Your feed might seem a bit empty now, but I’ve got you!
